CATLab (Control Automation Technologies Corporation) - Accredited Calibration Laboratories

Why CATLab?

Simply put, we've walked in your shoes and built our business accordingly.

Since 1989, our parent company, Control Automation Technologies Corporation (CATC) had furnished dozens of service technicians with precision test equipment for the calibration, maintenance and commissioning of its customer's process control systems. At first, we relied on the services of other commercial calibration labs to keep our technician's test equipment in good repair and calibration. Over the course of a decade we experienced wide variances in service from a variety of labs, some good, some not so much. Too often, we suffered through long delays, poor communication, inconsistent pricing and poor documentation.

Not only were we inconvenienced with our equipment out for long periods, sometimes twice for the same service; but the inefficiency of trading equipment between techs and the impact of substandard documentation were too costly. It was clear that the labs we'd tried, while probably competent on the bench, had little knowledge of circumstances in the field. In 1998, we decided we could do better. Using the strategies we'd seen work and modifying those that didn't, we followed the accreditation guidelines of the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation and founded CATLab™.

Today, we operate our North Carolina and Virginia laboratories on the philosophy; “Under Promise, Over Deliver”. As a result, nearly 250 manufacturers and industrial service companies throughout the eastern United States will benefit this year. As we expand our service area, many more will join them. Here are a few reasons why:
